Jason Patison has been a Lucas Oil driver for over a decade running on the dirt and asphalt all over the country in everything from Sprint Cars to Stock Cars. After finishing the 2007 ASA Modifieds season with a series high 4 poles and 5 wins, Jason and team decided it was time to step up into the upper ranks of circle-track racing. As luck would have it, a local NASCAR team was looking to do the same.
Speed Wong Racing LLC, located in Santa Ana, CA, and owned by Daryl Wong has been competing in local Saturday night NASCAR events and after years of success they also felt they were ready to test their abilities against the top regional NASCAR teams. The two teams turned out to be a perfect fit for each other making the decision obvious. Speed Wong Racing LLC joined forces with Jason Patison Racing and Lucas Oil Products to field 2 cars in the NASCAR Camping World West Series for the 2008 season. One will be piloted full time by Jason Patison, the other by long time SWR driver Brain Wong.
The series kicks off the season at the All American Speedway in Roseville, California and then tours the western United States from California to Minnesota. There are 13 races on the Camping World Series West schedule, followed by the East-West All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway, an event that combines the top teams from both the West and East series’. When not on the West series tour Jason will drive several other Speed Wong vehicles including the NASCR Super Late Model series and in several Porsche GT3 Cup events. I
Speed Wong Racing LLC and Jason Patison look forward to a great season together as the team will not only be competing for the Camping World West series championship but for Rookie of the Year honors as well.
